I am a bioengineering student with research experience in cell culture, microfluidic systems, and tissue modeling. I am interested in understanding how biological systems can be engineered in a predictable and programmable way. My current interests focus on applying engineering principles to biological circuits, gene regulation, and system level design. I am particularly motivated by projects that combine experimental biology with computational modeling or data driven approaches. I am looking to contribute meaningfully to research projects in synthetic biology, whether through literature review, modeling, experimental design support, or data analysis.

BiotechnologyModeling Resource Competition and Host Burden in Engineered Cells

Synthetic gene circuits often reduce host cell performance because they compete for limited cellular resources such as ribosomes, RNA polymerase, and energy. This project aims to develop a mathematical model that quantifies how synthetic construct expression affects host growth, protein production, and system stability. Using differential equation–based modeling, the study will simulate resource allocation tradeoffs and identify thresholds beyond which engineered cells become unstable. The goal is to provide a predictive framework that can guide the design of more stable and efficient synthetic systems.
