Visual Representations-Based Learning Environments: Systematic Review
This proposed review paper outlines a plan for a systematic review to investigate the impact of visual representations on digital learning environments. The study will analyze existing literature to determine how specific visual tools like simulations and interactive diagrams influence student comprehension. The researchers intend to categorize design features that reduce cognitive load and improve knowledge transfer. This proposal defines a methodology to screen peer reviewed articles for evidence of improved student performance. The final review will provide a framework for educators to select visual aids based on empirical data rather than aesthetic preference. Developers will gain a set of evidence based guidelines for building intuitive educational software. The project aims to fill a gap in the current understanding of how dynamic visuals support abstract reasoning. This work establishes a foundation for future experiments on multi modal learning strategies.
