Body appreciation

I’m interested in collaborating on research examining the relationship between body appreciation, social media exposure, and psychological well-being. With the growing influence of image-based platforms, understanding both the protective role of body appreciation and the potential risks of different types of social media content has become increasingly important. Potential areas of focus include (but are not limited to): Body appreciation as a protective factor against body dissatisfaction Types of social media exposure (e.g., appearance-focused vs. body-positive content) Gender, age, and cultural differences Links with mental health outcomes (e.g., self-esteem, anxiety, depression) Cross-cultural or longitudinal designs I’m open to conceptual work, scale validation, quantitative or mixed-methods studies, and cross-cultural collaborations. Happy to contribute to study design, data analysis, writing, and supervision of postgraduate research.
