This study's main goal was to assess the impact of IoT adoption in smart cities. The goals were to determine how IoT was being used in smart cities and the approaches that were being employed. The third goal was to determine the value of IoT. For the gathering of secondary data, the qualitative approach was chosen. It has made it possible to compile secondary data from numerous internet articles. Google Scholar was also employed as a tool for the gathering of secondary data. It has made it possible to recognise the significance of IoT in smart cities, and the descriptive evaluation method was used to examine the data that was gathered. It has made it possible for us to understand the value and underlying technology of IoT applications in smart cities. Digital tools and technology are the primary focus of IoT applications in smart cities. IoT's cutting-edge technology can manage traffic and cut waste in urban areas. Municipalities are employing these technologies to concentrate on enhancing infrastructure. The population's lifestyles have undergone significant change as a result of numerous IoT-related aspects. Additionally, the gathering of secondary data and the descriptive method of analysis have helped us understand the significance of IoT technology in smart cities.
