George Thoma holds a PhD in Sociology and is a Senior Lecturer and experienced researcher specializing in social research, with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. He teaches research methodology and focuses academically on sport, football fan cultures, and the presence of political and social ideologies within the game. His research interests include collective identities in Cypriot football, gender issues within organized fan movements, and the social dynamics of hooliganism.
