Understanding of business performance from the perspective of manufacturing strategies: fit manufacturing and overall equipment effectiveness

Procedia Manufacturing

Globalization and technological changes are now creating challenges for manufacturing companies. The latest technological developments in the manufacturing industry have forced companies to change from traditional manufacturing systems to advanced manufacturing technology systems. These changes have led manufacturing companies to adapt Fit Manufacturing strategies in order to enhance their Business Performance. Similarly, the Overall Equipment Effectiveness has become a major concern for modern manufacturing technology systems. However, limited empirical knowledge is available to confirm the effect of these strategies on Business Performance. To fill this gap, this study aims to assess the relationship between Fit Manufacturing (Lean Manufacturing, Agile Manufacturing and Sustainability) and Business Performance through the mediation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness.

The Moderating Role of Advance Manufacturing Technology (AMT) on the Relationship between LARG-Supply Chain and Supply Chain Performance

SSRN Electronic Journal

Supply-chain management (SCM) is considered one of the essential parts of international marketplaces. SCM comprises a number of paradigms such as Lean, Agile, Resilient, and Green (LARG). This research explains that an advanced manufacturing technology has a significant effect on the relationship between LARG-supply chain (SC), and SC performance. The correlation variables LARG-SC and supply SC performance is identified. A suitable theory is also investigated. This study utilizes several library entrances toward assembly knowledge. The framework of research is to determine each variable, which comprises independent variables, moderators, and dependent variables.

Application of Artificial Intelligence in Automation of Supply Chain Efficiency in Oman

Journal of Contemporary Management Studies

Oman’s supply chain sector is currently facing increasing pressure to improve efficiency due to rising demand, rapid digitalization, and growing expectations for faster and more reliable logistics services. However, many organizations continue to struggle with limited adoption of advanced technologies and varying levels of organizational readiness. In response to these challenges, this study investigates how Artificial Intelligence Technologies (AIT) and the Level of Automation (LOA) influence supply chain efficiency (SCE), and whether Organizational Readiness (OREAD) moderates these relationships. Data were collected via structured questionnaires distributed to 350 participants, including verified supply chain experts accessed through Oman’s Ministry of Labour and employees in supply chain roles reached through social media platforms, ensuring both expertise and broad representation. Regression analysis was conducted using SPSS/AMOS to test the proposed hypotheses. The results show that both AIT and LOA have significant positive effects on SCE, and that OREAD strengthens these relationships by enhancing the effectiveness of technology adoption. These findings suggest that organizations in Oman’s public and private sectors can improve supply chain performance by integrating AI and automation, particularly when supported by strong organizational readiness. This study contributes to the supply chain management literature by providing empirical evidence on the direct and moderated effects of AIT and LOA on SCE, emphasizing the crucial role of organizational readiness in maximizing technological benefits.
