
This paper investigated various methodologies and frameworks that facilitate sustainable decision-making. It emphasized the importance of multiple-criteria decision-making (MCDM) theories, explored the life cycle sustainability assessment (LCSA), and examined ethical considerations in decision-making, ensuring that decisions are operative and ethically formulated. It discussed the practical challenges of implementing these frameworks. Moreover, it identified opportunities for improvement. The paper examined multiple case studies to offer valuable insights into the practical application of sustainable decision-making frameworks. Sustainable decision-making for sustainable development policy across various regions and countries was also investigated. The paper concluded with detailed recommendations to improve sustainable decision-making processes for policymakers and industry leaders, contributing to more successful and sustainable practices across various sectors.
