About

I am a researcher with a dual academic background in statistics and health sciences, focused on understanding how health services shape population well-being and how data can support more equitable and efficient health systems. I hold a PhD in Statistics, and I am currently completing a second doctoral degree in Medicine, specializing in the impact of health services on quality of life. My work combines econometric thinking with applied health policy questions: what drives the performance of health services, how resources are allocated, and what evidence supports better decisions?

I have over 10 years of research experience, including coordinating scientific projects, publishing in international journals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. I am particularly engaged in issues of health-data quality, the digital transformation of healthcare, and the evaluation of regional and global inequalities in access and outcomes. Methodological rigor, responsible communication of results, and the motivation to contribute to meaningful improvements in public health are the core principles that guide my work.
I am driven by research that not only measures and explains disparities but also supports practical solutions. Through each project, I aim to make evidence more accessible and more useful for professionals, policymakers, and ultimately for the communities they serve.

Healthcare Management: A Bibliometric Analysis Based on the Citations of Research Articles Published between 1967 and 2020

The purpose of this study is to analyse the trends manifested in research literature from the field of healthcare management, with emphasis on bibliometric features and different influencing factors. For this, a search was conducted of nine academic databases between January and May 2021. Article features were registered in our database after first applying the validation criteria used for their inclusion. Then, data regarding the publication of the included articles were collected. The analysis focused on trends over time, topic, and journals in which they were published. Moreover, the effect of some factors on the citation of articles was analysed. Our results showed that the 250 analysed articles were published in 139 journals, and many of were by researchers affiliated with universities in the United States. Over time, the publication of analysed articles and their number of citations registered a continuous increase. The most common topics of focus were healthcare management systems and their challenges. In our study, we identified factors that significantly affect citation number, such as number of years since publication, the number of words in the title, and the number of authors of an article. In addition, major gaps were identified, as were new unresolved challenges that can trigger new research ideas.

Research Concerns Regarding Survey Interviewer Characteristics: A Bibliometric Analysis

This paper evaluates the factors on which depends the appearance in literature of the articles that treats the survey interviewer characteristics topic. For this purpose we do a bibliometric analysis. Our research is based on 234 articles which were published during 1949-2010, which approaches the topic of the survey interviewer characteristics and which can be find in the online articles databases. We aim to estimate the association of factors that can influence the appearance of an article on this topic in prestigious journals and to evaluate the influence of those factors. In the data analysis we used data association analysis and logit regression model. Data were processed in the statistical programs R. The results of statistical analyses have shown that, for the analyzed articles, the time period when the articles had been elaborated and the geographical area where the author is from are factors influencing the publication of the studied articles in a prestigious journal.

The Proposal of a Tool for Candidates Selection for Employment. The Case of Survey Interviewers

This study purpose is a questionnaire development used to quantify survey interviewer cha- racteristics. Five dimensions of personality were used: conscientiousness, extraversion, agree-ableness, emotional stability and openness. Those dimensions where measured using a Likert scale with 6 points. In total, 107 survey interviewers from a branch of private companies specialized in public opinion research answered the questionnaire's questions. Reliability of the questionnaire was assessed by internal consistency. A preliminary list of 25 items was prepared as a starting point. After evaluation of validity, five items were rejected. The new measurement instrument with 20 items was finally developed. The content validity index for the final questionnaire was found acceptable. Results showed that final questionnaire was internally consistent.

Entrepreneurial Decisions of the Location Choice for Mergers and Acquisitions in the EU-27

Locations that offer a positive business climate with strong environmental performance and sustainable practices are more likely to attract companies seeking to integrate carbon dioxide reduction strategies through mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The aim of this study is to analyze the extent to which the business climate in European countries influences the M&A market. We considered the conditions of institutional, economic or sustainability regulations to determine if the ease of doing business (EDB) index, the World Governance Indicators, and carbon dioxide emissions can influence the evolution of M&A. After applying the Ordinary Least Squares regression and panel analysis, the conclusion was that sustainability criteria are important factors for investors when choosing the companies to invest in.

Enhancing civic engagement with science: a comparative approach across European regions

Abstract Public understanding of science and his involvement in different aspects of research activities impact contemporary life more than ever. This study compares civic engagement with science across European regions and assesses the determinants of this kind of engagement. The research is based on the Special Eurobarometer data (2021) and uses non-parametric tests and multilevel logistic regression. The results show significant differences between European regions in civic engagement with science, with the most notable distinctions between Northern Europe and the other European regions. The main determinants of civic engagement with science as scientific literacy, citizens’ attitudes towards science, their manifested interest, informing tools, and observed benefits, provide valuable insights for decisional actors to foster greater engagement with science among citizens. The considered determinants reveal a comprehensive view of the complex relationships between individual attitudes, information sources, and perceived benefits, and highlight the diversity of behaviours towards science and community heterogeneity across the continent.

Highlight Global Inequities in Health Services Quality Research: A Systematic Review and Quantitative Evidence (2014–2023)

<title>Abstract</title> Background Health service quality is important for adequate and equitable health systems. However, research on this topic may reflect imbalances in global scientific production, visibility, and collaboration. This study examines global trends and disparities in health service quality research over the past decade, focusing on thematic priorities, geographic distribution, and structural inequities. Methods A systematic review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines, combining bibliometric and econometric methods. Peer-reviewed articles published between 2014 and 2023 were retrieved through comprehensive searches of international databases. Bibliometric indicators assessed publication trends, co-authorship networks, thematic focus, and citation patterns. Econometric modeling explored factors associated with citation impact and international collaboration. Results Out of 9.763 records identified, 8.857 articles were included in the final analysis. Global publication volume increased steadily, peaking in 2021. Three dominant research themes were identified: patient experience, service delivery, and health outcomes. Institutions from high-income countries, particularly North America and Europe, accounted for the most output and citations. Articles in English had significantly higher visibility than non-English publications. Citation impact was positively associated with international collaboration and reference count but negatively associated with title length and excessive keyword use. Conclusions Despite the growth in global research output, significant disparities persist in the visibility and influence of health services quality research. Linguistic, institutional, and geographic factors contribute to uneven dissemination and recognition. Promoting inclusive publishing practices and fostering cross-regional collaboration is essential to reducing structural inequities and enhancing the global relevance of health systems research.
