Rural Consumers’ Access to Credit and Role of Bank’s Marketing in Rural Karnataka

Figshare

The mobilization of rural consumers' potential savings to generate credit for inclusive lending to the rural/urban poor consumers in emerging markets presents a strategic challenge for policy makers. Large-scale credit aggregation can only be achieved by the use of modern banks. However, rural consumers may resist the use of banks as objects of nonlocal origin. The authors rely on the classic theory of demand aggregation advantage to critically analyze the public policy framework underpinning rural banking for the attainment of inclusive economic development goals of bottom-of the-pyramid markets. An empirical test of the framework in Karnataka's rural banking programs shows that demand aggregation advantage predicts consumer satisfaction with the inclusive lending practices of banking institutions among existing clients but not new clients. The study suggests that the public policy framework for promoting compliance with inclusive lending goals of rural banking programs in Karnataka does not adequately consider rural consumers' interpretation of demand aggregation activities.

Embracing Electric Two-Wheelers: A Transformative Shift in Consumer Adoption of Eco-Friendly Transportation Technology

ITM Web of Conferences

This study investigates the pivotal shift in consumer behaviour towards adopting eco-friendly transportation technology, specifically focusing on the significant uptake of electric two-wheelers. Employing a comprehensive review of contemporary literature and empirical data, this research examines the multidimensional factors influencing consumers’ enthusiastic acceptance of electric two-wheelers using structural Equation Modelling and Technology Acceptance Model. The data would be collected from users of EVs and Non EVs. The analysis reveals a confluence of factors driving this transformative trend, including heightened environmental awareness, advancements in battery technology, cost-efficiency considerations, urban mobility needs, supportive governmental policies, diversification in brand offerings, and evolving consumer preferences. Understanding the motivations behind consumers’ shift towards electric two-wheelers holds crucial implications for policymakers, manufacturers, and marketers, guiding strategies for sustainable transportation development, infrastructure enhancement, and targeted marketing initiatives. Consumer perceptions of e-commerce marketing tactics in North Karnataka

Heritage and Sustainable Development ISSN 2712-0554

This study investigates customer perceptions of e-commerce marketing tactics in North Karnataka, employing a mixed-method approach that integrates secondary and primary data. Secondary data were sourced from Scopus-indexed journals, providing theoretical background, while primary data were collected via self-administered questionnaires from 150 randomly selected respondents across North Karnataka. Various measurement instruments were used to capture customer perceptions, attitudes, and satisfaction levels, including nominal, ordinal, and scale data. The collected data underwent coding and cleaning processes to ensure accuracy and consistency, followed by statistical analysis using descriptive statistics and automated linear regression methods. Descriptive statistics summarized demographic characteristics and responses to Likert scale items, while regression analysis identified significant predictors of customer satisfaction. The findings revealed that social media marketing, website user experience, product reviews, and ratings positively correlate with customer satisfaction. Conversely, email marketing influence and usefulness showed a negative correlation with satisfaction. The model achieved an accuracy rate of 54.2%, highlighting the complex dynamics between e-commerce marketing tactics and customer satisfaction. This study underscores the importance of tailoring e-commerce marketing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction in the North Karnataka region.
