About

Strategic Auditor & Compliance Expert | Transitioning into Interdisciplinary Research

I am a Certified ISO 19011 Lead Auditor and Accountant with a professional foundation built on institutional governance, risk-based analysis, and operational excellence. Currently affiliated with the University of Nairobi, my career has been defined by bridging the gap between complex statutory compliance (such as the PFM Act) and operational efficiency through KAIZEN and 5S methodologies.

Why I am diving into Research

While my background is rooted in financial and internal auditing, I am passionate about applying Systematic Review and Risk-Based Methodologies to broader social and behavioral challenges. I believe that the same rigor used to safeguard organizational integrity can be used to validate research frameworks, specifically in the realms of:
1. Digital Governance & Ethics: Ensuring data integrity and ethical compliance in sensitive studies.
2. Forensic Analysis: Utilizing substantive testing and pattern recognition (KYC/AML) to identify behavioral "red flags" in digital environments.
3. Process Optimization: Applying Lean principles to research workflows to improve efficiency and output quality.

What I bring to a Research Team

1. Analytical Rigor: Expert in Data Analytics (Power BI, Excel Power Query) and detecting discrepancies in complex datasets.
2. Governance & Ethics: Specialized certification in Transparency & Ethics in Public Institutions, ensuring that research meets high institutional and legal standards.
3. Methodological Precision: As a Lead Auditor, I excel at Gap Analysis and developing structured frameworks for auditing and verification.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination: Proven ability to lead committees and coordinate diverse stakeholders to achieve shared strategic goals.

I am eager to collaborate on projects that require a disciplined, audit-oriented approach to data, ethics, and institutional compliance. Let’s connect and explore how my background in risk and governance can strengthen your next research initiative.

Areas of Interest

Research Focus & Interests: 1. Systematic Processes: Optimization of research workflows using Lean/KAIZEN principles. 2. Compliance Auditing: Integrating ISO 9001/45001 frameworks into institutional research. 3. Forensic Accounting: Detecting discrepancies in public sector financial data (PFM Act compliance). 4. Ethical Governance: Developing auditing protocols for high-risk interdisciplinary studies.
